HISTORY AND LEGACY

The foundation for Stena was laid on 18 November 1939 when the Sten A Olsson Metallprodukter trading company started to do business. In the years to come the company was to expand into today’s large international conglomerate.Stena is still wholly owned by the Sten A. Olsson family and is one of the largest family-owned business groups in Sweden.The Stena Sphere is comprised of three parent companies: Stena AB, Stena Sessan AB and Stena Metall AB.

The Stena AB group of companies are engaged in Ferry Operations, Offshore Drilling, Shipping, Property, Finance and New Business and operate on a worldwide basis.

STENA (UK) LIMITED

Stena (UK) Limited and its subsidiaries is part of the Stena AB Group and has been present in the UK since the mid 60-ies. Through organic growth and acquisitions the group has expanded its business activities in the UK substantially throughout the years, especially in the areas of Ferry Operation, Offshore Drilling and Shipping.
